Spelling and Grammar Checks

Language Monster's spelling and grammar checker runs automatically on every translation as it is saved. Rather than waiting until a project is complete, errors are surfaced in real time so translators can correct them inline.

The spell checker is language-aware — it uses the target language's dictionary rather than the source language, so a translation into French is checked against French spelling rules. This matters particularly for inflected languages where a single root word produces dozens of valid forms.

Grammar checks flag structural issues such as missing punctuation, double spaces, and broken sentence patterns. These are common side effects of copy-pasting or machine translation output, and catching them early reduces the review burden on human translators downstream.

Spelling and grammar checks work alongside the Glossary to give translators two complementary signals: the Glossary enforces which terms to use, and spell check ensures those terms are spelled correctly. Together they reduce the risk of a typo slipping through in a branded term or a product name.

Flagged issues appear inline in the translation editor and are also surfaced in the project quality report, giving project managers a clear view of which strings need attention before a translation batch is marked complete.
